Operating Theatre
We have facilities and equipment to carry out almost all surgical procedures on site, from routine neutering to complex internal operations.
* We monitor every Anaesthetic.
* A battery of leads and tubes get connected to each patient which means we can control the anaesthetic to an impressive degree, making it as safe as possible.
* We use a vacuum autoclave for improved sterility.
* Each patient has a separate sterile surgical kit.
* Each patient has a brand new scalpel and needle.
* We regularly test our theatre for bacterial levels to maintain strict hygiene.
* Blood pressure monitoring: we think we are unique in using this routinely. The useful information it provides is just another aspect in total safety for the patient. We can even get reading from guinea pigs!
* Carbon dioxide monitoring: we were one of the first practices to use this, five years ago!
* In total we use about £10,000 worth of equipment on each patient!
* Our operating table is thermostatically controlled
