Neutering
Neutering (spaying and castration) of cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs is a routine procedure. At this practice the length of stay is minimal, usually only 3-4 hours in total. We don’t need to keep them in overnight and they should be able to go out the following day.
Our cat spays are done underneath which is kinder on the cat and avoids a large shaved area on the side, which you get with the more traditional method. The op takes less than 15 minutes. Have a look at the video of a Cat Spay – there is no blood so don’t worry!
All our operations, even cat castrates, are intubated and monitored for ECG, oxygen, CO2 and blood pressure, just like any other operation. We think that this practice is unique in this - safety is paramount.
